Creating a Flex AIR Screenshot app: Part 25

In this tutorial we will add an About pop up window and create icons for our screenshot application.

First, let's make icons. We need 4 png pictures - 128x128, 48x48, 32x32 and 16x16 sized. Here are the ones I made:


To implement them in our application, open the FlashDevelop project and go to Project > AIR Application Properties. Under Application, you can add the 4 icons under their corresponding sizes. This will duplicate the images, rename them and put them in bin/icons folder. The names for my icons are Kirshot128, Kirshot48, Kirshot32 and Kirshot16 (because the project's name is Kirshot).

After that is done, we can move on to create the About window. First, go to loadpage state and add a new button with a label "?" next to the Browse local... button. Set its click event handler to openAbout().

The openAbout() function uses PopUpManager to add and center an aboutWindow object. This is the TitleWindow that we will create soon.

Add a closeAbout() function too, which uses the same class to remove aboutWindow.

Now go to Declarations, and add a TitleWindow object. Inside of it, I added some text and a picture (specifically the 128x128 icon), nothing too fancy.
